The tester reports what the browser delivers — not what the mouse sends. Readings here are browser-observed event rates, bounded by the frame loop and event coalescing: on a 60Hz display the delivered rate cannot exceed ~60Hz no matter what the hardware polls at, and only Chrome/Edge expose sub-frame samples at all. A low number here never proves a slow mouse, and a high number never proves a fast one — the wire-level rate needs the methods in hardware-level measurement. Treat our results as a reading of the event path, which is exactly what we label them.

Click-test numbers are similarly scoped. Dwell time and delivery delay are real measurements of what reached the page; they don’t capture the hardware+OS share of click latency, and a flagged run hints at — never proves — a switch fault. Confirm on a second device before replacing hardware.

Guides age. Polling-rate options, vendor software menus and OS internals change; latency figures in the articles are typical ranges, not guarantees. Where manufacturer specs and independent measurement disagree, trust the measurement.
